- Keep an eye on the wear!
- Change (or turn) wearing parts in time.
- Check tire pressure on tread wheels.
- Lubricate joints and pivot points often, don't forget the pull.
- Inspect the drawbar and implement frame for wear, damage and cracks.
- Inspect rotating components frequently, a broken bearing can cause unnecessary damage.
- Thoroughly clean implements and tractors in the field.
- Secure raised tillage equipment during maintenance/repair work.
- Suspension components can be risky to handle. Wear gloves when handling worn parts.
- Check the implement from a little distance, it is easier to see the parallelism with the ground surface then.
- Check if the implement can be combined with another, for example a roller after a cultivator, to minimize the number of runs.
- Often, a couple of cultivations with a leveling follower can replace plowing and subsequent harrowing.
- If the combine has boss spreaders, subsequent processing is facilitated.
- Using autosteer on the tractor when tilling allows for minimized double-driving and fuel consumption.
